Preparation is key before applying a topcoat to floor surfaces as any dirt, dust particles or spilages can mean the topcoat won’t adhere as well as it should. Cleaners and degreasers help to remove the dirt and grime that can build up on floor surfaces, making it ready to take one of the many topcoats available.
A product such as Floor Cleaner 2903 from Rust-Oleum is a lightly foaming, neutral degreaser which is based on surface-active substances and cleaning enhancers. The non-flammable, non-corrosive and nearly odourless solution is suitable for daily or periodic cleaning of mineral, coated or tile floors. As well as removing grease, dirt, proteins and many other contaminations and is also ideal for removing soot and fire damaged to floors.
Repairs:
Concrete and stone surfaces are tough but can sometimes crack or become damaged so need a specialist product to repair. Rust-Oleum Epoxy Repair Mortar is a repair system with unequalled hardness and bonding power, ensuring fast curing which is virtually indestructible and available from your local Brewers branch.
Rust-Oleum Epoxy Repair Mortar is a 2 component epoxy resin for repairing damaged, dished or dangerous concrete and stone floors and steps. Offering permanent repairs for cracks, holes, nosing and gaps within the material, in a formulation which hardens in three to six hours (depending on temperature at application).
Protection:
To ensure the successful completion of a flooring project for a surface that lasts, it is essential to choose the right floor paint for the situation and environment. For example Tarmacoat from Rust-Oleum is a flexible, water-based floor paint which is walkable and rainproof only 1 hour after its application. Developed for use on surfaces such as asphalt, pavers, car parks, line marking, tennis courts and playgrounds, Tarmacoat is perfect for high impact areas and offers good resistance to UV and all weather conditions.
Whether it is a single pack sealer or paint to reduce dust and provide a decorative finish, or a two pack epoxy or polyurethane coating that will take heavy traffic, Brewers have a coating to fit your requirements.
Enhance:
The specialist products available from Brewers includes Rust-Oleum Non Skid Floor Paint Adhesive, so if grip is an issue, in particular in high foot-flow situations, this simple yet effective product can be mixed into the coating or broadcast over the final (wet) finish. Suitable for concrete and wooden floors the non-skid adhesive consists of thermally split flint stone granules which provide an anti-slip finish.
